Louise Nicol graduated from the University of Exeter in 1997, following which she worked for the Japanese government on the JET Programme.(www.jetprogramme.org) After two years in Japan, Louise worked for Hobsons PLC (www.hobsons.com) for seven years. Louise worked on both the Graduate and School Leaver divisions and went on to manage the Education Division’s Marketing and Sales team. Louise then set launched and managed Hobsons Education Market Research Business. During her time at Hobsons Louise worked with over 60 UK universities including: University of Aberdeen; Bournemouth University; Brunel University; De Montfort University; University of Glasgow; University of Leeds; Loughborough University; University of Manchester; Newcastle University; Nottingham Trent University and the University of Sheffield.
In 2007 Louise moved to i-graduate (www.i-graduate.org) where she headed up Business Development for over two years. During this time she worked extensively in Europe, New Zealand, the UK and the USA. In 2009 Louise started her own Education Consultancy Business, nicol&nicol. nicol&nicol provides Education Consultancy for government agencies, education institutions and commercial organisations primarily in the areas of marketing, recruitment and internationalisation.
During her time working within Education, Louise has worked with a large number of government agencies, education institutions and commercial organisations including: the British Council (UK); the Department of Education (UK), Education New Zealand (NZ); Auckland University of Technology (NZ), University of Birmingham (UK); University of Cambridge (UK); Cardiff University (UK); University of Cincinnati (USA); University College, London (UK); University of Edinburgh (UK); Glasgow Caledonian University (UK); International House (UK); INTO University Partnerships LTD; Kings College London (UK); K.U. Leuven (BE); Ohio State University (USA); University of Otago (NZ); Pen State University (USA); StudyGroup (AU & UK); Trinity College Dublin (IR) & Yale University (USA).
During her career Louise has presented at a large number of conferences in Europe and North America including: AIEA, APLU, CASE, EAIE & NAFSA. Following her move to Malaysia in 2010 Louise has continued to work in the Education field with companies such as i-graduate and also a number of Asia based organisations and International Schools.
